The London Bridgathon 2016 – a step in the right direction.
On Sunday 18th September, over 90 people and a number of our four legged friends attended the annual sponsored walk in aid of TTP Education and Research.
The walk was just over six miles and passed some of the major London landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Southbank, TATE Modern and many more. This leisurely walk, with a few breaks for selfies, snacks and other refreshments took most people around 2-3 hours.
Most of the walkers were TTP patients joined by family and friends.? Dr Marie Scully and the rest of the medical team including Siobhan McGuckin, Dr Jean Paul Westwood, Dr Mari Thomas, Dr Ferras Alwan and their family/friends also joined in.
Everyone received an exclusive T-Shirt and a certificate on completion.? The children even received a medal for their efforts.? Houda did a fabulous job with the organisation of the walk and kept everyone topped up with refreshments.
The target today was ?3,000 which has almost been reached and the good news is that the amount achieved from the walk will be matched by one of the patients.
